FAQ

  1. Can I eat all kinds of food with my dentures?
Yes! You will be able to eat most of the foods you normally eat. The only exception will be eating difficult-to-chew items such as hard candy or beef jerky — things that are hard to chew with natural teeth! Other than that, you'll eat completely normally.

  2. Will my dentures look natural?
Absolutely. There is a wide range of shapes, shades and sizes of teeth that will create a natural-looking match for you.

  3. Is it OK to sleep with them?
While it is not dangerous to sleep with dentures, it is important to give your gums a rest during the night, or when you're not using your dentures. Sleeping without your dentures is also an important way to prevent bacteria build-up in your mouth, or on your dentures.

  4. Can I get same-day repairs?
Of course! Most repairs only take 45 minutes to an hour because we have an on-premises lab.

  5. Will I need adhesive for my dentures?
Not always. In many cases, dentures can be worn without adhesive. A very quick examination will determine whether your dentures will need adhesive or not.

  6. How long will it take to do a new reline?
Because we have a lab on the premises, a new reline only takes from one to two hours!

  7. How much do new dentures cost?
That depends on the materials used — acrylic or porcelain. We have a range of cost options — from very economical to highly-customized dentures. You will receive an accurate estimate during your first visit that fits your needs and your budget.

  8. What's the best solution if I still have some natural teeth and also need a partial denture?
There are different approaches for different problems, but the most basic advice I can give is to never combine porcelain dentures with natural teeth. The porcelain will grind the natural tooth down — the last thing you want to happen!

  9. How should I clean my dentures?
There are many products in most pharmacies that will help you clean your dentures. These work perfectly fine if you clean your dentures carefully. I will be happy to show you how to clean your dentures when you pick them up. However, if you prefer, you can let an ultrasound machine do the cleaning for you. There are a range of affordable ultrasound machines available in most pharmacies.

  10. Will it stain my dentures if I drink coffee or wine?
Since even the highest quality materials have a level of porosity, they will stain over time if you drink coffee or wine or smoke on a regular basis.

  11. Will I be able to sing or play a musical instrument with my dentures?
Missing teeth are what make it difficult to sing or play an instrument. It's my job to restore natural-looking and natural-feeling teeth that will let you sing and play instruments as well you did before.

  12. How long will my dentures last?
Normally, you can expect your dentures to last from 5 to 10 years — but I have known people who have worn the same dentures (with minor adjustments) for 30 or 40 years!

  13. Can my dentures be made to look natural for me — and not look like "dentures?"
When we create dentures, we take many aesthetic factors into consideration, such as age, shape of face, weight, and ethnic background in order to match your dentures to YOU. We can even "characterize" your dentures or partials. For example if your natural tooth had a little "twist" to it, we can reproduce that angle to make it look exactly the way your natural tooth looked.

  14. Can I get a gold inlay or onlay in my dentures?
Yes, it's absolutely no problem to put gold inlay in your dentures — or to have an entire tooth in gold.

  15. What is your exam going to tell me?
We will conduct a thorough examination to determine what solution is best for you. We will explain all the possibilities of aesthetics and function, materials and costs.

  16. What about implants?
Implants can be the optimal solution for a partial or denture patient, but patients usually don't choose them because of their relatively high cost. However, if implants are part of your solution of choice, we will give you prices and possibilities, and connect you with a surgeon or periodontist who can place the implants ™— and together we will create your natural-looking and natural-feeling implants or dentures.
